wow!….back when I was there in the 80s, my spot of choice was at where two logs connected on that beach…down the hill from W13th on my bike, and in the afternoon back up that stupid hill, until I smartened up and started driving down that stupid hill…after a stop at the market for breakfast….I’ll never forget the first time I decided to headout at low tide to see how far I could go…and after I would swim..the first time, the seagulls taught me a lesson, they’d ripped my stuff on that spot apart……as for ship wrecks…my daily journey to work at Port Mann would take me down along the fraser river along river road, there was a broken down I think may have been a ferry at one time, or river boat?….and I would also drive past a pub underneath the Alex Fraser Bridge what I think was called the Wild Rose or something (at one point I’d always have to stop, they were filming some movie that had Jodie Foster in it)…good times

Your telling me about being in Vancouver back in the day always makes me smile. It’s so great you have these memories, especially since I was very much a kid during these halcyon days of the city (and I think the movie was “The Accused,” because I 100% remember scenes from beneath the Fraser Bridge!).
